Lampung, Indonesia — The University of Lampung (UNILA) is set to host the second International Conference of Medical Health & Science (ICOMESH) on August 7-8, 2024. Supported by the Asian Development Bank (ADB) under the Higher Education, Technology, and Innovation (HETI) Project grant, this event aims to foster advancements in medical research and education.
Focus on Life Sciences
ICOMESH 2024, themed “Life Sciences,” is a pivotal event under UNILA’s HETI Project. This initiative aims to enhance the development of the RSPTN/Teaching Hospital and establish an Integrated Research Center specializing in tropical infections, endocrine and metabolic disorders, geriatrics, and medical rehabilitation. The IRC will also focus on tropical medicine, biomolecular research, genetic and degenerative diseases, pathology and toxicology, clinical and diagnostic trials, and food nutrition.
Capacity Development and International Collaboration
The HETI Project emphasizes Capacity Development, designed to enhance the expertise of Medical Faculty Staff, Teaching Hospital Staff, and IRC Staff. In 2024, the initiative includes 11 activity programs, with ICOMESH being a highlight. The conference aims to promote the development and dissemination of advanced knowledge and technology in medicine, health, and related sciences.

Prominent Speakers and Global Reach
ICOMESH 2024 will feature distinguished speakers from various institutions, including the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia, Universitas Gadjah Mada, University of Technology MARA, Universität Hamburg, Dalhousie University, and Griffith University. The conference will cover a wide range of topics under the “Life Sciences” theme.
Impressive Participation
The 2nd ICOMESH has attracted 1,367 registered participants, with 200 attending in person and 1,167 virtually. The event features 167 oral presenters, with 94 attending in person and 73 participating online. Attendees include representatives from universities across Indonesia, health colleges, hospitals, and international institutions from Japan, Malaysia, Australia, and Taiwan. Female participation is notable, with 1,070 female attendees and 297 male attendees.
Publication and Knowledge Dissemination
One of ICOMESH’s key goals is to facilitate the publication of research in international proceedings indexed by Scopus and/or ISBN, thereby enhancing UNILA’s international publication metrics and the HETI Project’s key performance indicators.
